Campbell Creek Project

In 2009, TVA decided to put home energy efficiency to the test. In partnership with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), three homes of varying energy efficiencies were built in the Campbell Creek neighborhood in Knoxville, Tenn. Each home was then equipped with identical robotic systems to simulate equal living behavior. Together, with our partners, we analyzed the energy usage and costs from each home over a five-year period to determine the savings achieved by each level of efficiency.
